The PowerPoint Comma Bug

I recently received a call from a customer who was having a problem creating hyperlinks in PowerPoint 2007. She had a slide which was, in essence, a table of contents in that it contained links to all the other slides in the presentation. However, there was one hyperlink that would not work.

Outlook-iCal Synchronisation

Today was my last day at work for 2008 and so I’d set aside some time for those end-of-year-admin jobs…empty my Inbox (no I didn’t just press CTRL + A and hit the Delete key, nor did I move everything to a “do not process until 2009″ folder), tidy my “My Documents folder, set [...]

Audio Books and the iPhone

I have recently become a book addict. For anyone who knows me well, you can pick yourself up off the floor now – I hardly ever read books unless the subject involves Manchester United (although I did once pick up John Grisham’s The Firm and couldn’t put it down).

Google – More than a Search Engine

This morning one of my colleagues asked what time it was in a certain part of the world. I typed the name of the place followed by “Current Time” into the Google search box. Google responded by displaying the current time for that location above it’s normal results list.

Absolute Cell References in Excel

Absolute cell references allow you to “fix” part or all of a cell reference in a formula. This can be a great time-saver when copying formulas, however, there is more to it than meets the eye…
