Screen Captures with The Snipping Tool (Vista)

When it comes to taking screen captures, Windows users have had to rely on the PrintScreen key or purchase/download a third-party application. My favourite app for taking screen captures on Windows is Hypersnap, although there are several others – some are free and some are paid-for.

Copying Non-Hidden Cells in Excel 2007

One of the features of Excel is the ability to hide cells. However, if you copy a range that contains hidden cells and paste the selection elsewhere, you get all the rows including the hidden ones. This short tutorial will show you how to copy just the visible cells.

FrontPage Runs Out of Memory

Unfortunately I have to use FrontPage 2000 at work and today when attempting to open our team’s site to make some changes, a message appeared that I’d never seen before.

Outlook-iCal Synchronisation

Today was my last day at work for 2008 and so I’d set aside some time for those end-of-year-admin jobs…empty my Inbox (no I didn’t just press CTRL + A and hit the Delete key, nor did I move everything to a “do not process until 2009″ folder), tidy my “My Documents folder, set my [...]

Audio Books and the iPhone

This is useful if you want to check whether a colleague is available..or you just want to snoop at an ex-colleague’s whereabouts! However, Outlook remembers the names of the previous few users whose mailboxes you have [...]

Microsoft Photo Editor starts minimised

Unfortunately at work I am limited as to the software I can use. I occasionally have the need to work with photos and if I’m lucky I may find that the PC I’m using has Paint Shop Pro installed but more often that not I’m reduced to using Microsoft Photo Editor. There’s a known issue [...]

Breaking Links in Excel

I was recently presented with an Excel file which displayed a message every time it was opened indicating that it contained links to other files. I was assured by the owner of this spreadsheet that all links had been removed. Thanks to officearticles.com for helping me to solve the problem: Open the file with the [...]
