Farewell IBM. Hello Computacenter

Twelve years ago the company where I work decided to outsource the majority of it’s IT operations and IBM won the contract to be the sole supplier of IT services. The team that I work for (I joined in March 2007) is part of IBM and provides a range of IT training services to the [...]

Apple Wireless Keyboards and Windows

Wanting to go wireless at work, I successfully paired my Apple bluetooth keyboard with my Vista laptop. All was going well – I even coped without PgUp / PgDn – until I had to press ALT+CTRL+DEL after my PC locked itself as I’d been away for more than 15 mins. The Delete key on the [...]

The Show Must Go On

I woke up last Tuesday morning to find my car, my driveway and surrounding roads covered in 4 inches of snow so I made the decision to work from home.

Taking it for Granted 2 – My iPhone

When it came to mobile phones my requirements were simple – something that allowed me to make and receive calls. Camera, MP3 player and games were never a must-have for me. And the time it took for me to compose a text, well, forget it. Maybe that’s why I stayed for so long on Vodafone’s [...]

Taking it for Granted

I was a panelist on a recent edition of The Mac 20 Questions Round Table. Each of us was asked to select our favourite piece of software. As I sat in front of the microphone, awaiting my turn to speak, I frantically tried to think of what to choose and realised that I don’t have [...]

I’m a Person Not a MacBook!

If I was a company or a product I’d be rebranding myself. If I was a pop star or an actor, I’d be reinventing myself. I’m neither of these but today I decided to change my Twitter avatar.

Education Education Education

Tomorrow I have booked a day’s leave to attend an Apple seminar in Manchester. Aperture in the morning and Final Cut in the afternoon…and if all goes to plan, a Chinese buffet at lunchtime!
