Forklift

On a recent edition of MacBites we discussed alternatives to Finder. Elaine’s pick was Path Finder, whilst mine was Forklift. Although I still do use Finder for basic file management operations, the main reason that I use Forklift is that it provides a dual-pane view.

Email ‘n Walk

I spend about 2 hours a day walking my dog. In order to ensure that this time is used effectively, I usually listen to a podcast on my iPhone. If it’s not raining, I’ll also use the phone to check email, send texts, surf the web and Twitter.

Gone are the days when a mobile phone was just a phone. I prefer to think of my iPhone as a mobile computing device. Excluding the applications that come as standard, I’ve got almost 40 apps on my phone. These are split over 4 screens.

Audio Books and the iPhone

I have recently become a book addict. For anyone who knows me well, you can pick yourself up off the floor now – I hardly ever read books unless the subject involves Manchester United (although I did once pick up John Grisham’s The Firm and couldn’t put it down).

Opening of The Apple Store Liverpool

Manchester may be the home of The Premiership and European Champions and also 2 Apple Stores, but today we travelled 35 miles down the M62 to be present at the opening of the Apple Store in Liverpool.
